SkimaTalk Reviews
Pros:
SkimaTalk is a great option for native English speakers without formal teaching credentials, allowing a wider pool of teachers to join.
Teachers can work as much or as little as they want, offering flexibility to fit around other commitments.
Starting at $16 USD/hour with the potential to set your own rate after the initial phase. This gives teachers control over their earnings.
SkimaTalk offers 24/7 teaching slots, which is ideal for those wanting to work at various times of the day, including evenings and weekends.
The process is straightforward with no major qualifications required, and approval is quick (within 10 business days).
The platform doesn't require teaching experience or a degree, making it accessible to many new teachers.
Cons:
New teachers must conduct three free sessions, which can be time-consuming without pay.
After the free sessions, teachers are automatically assigned an $8/session rate (for 25 minutes) before they can set their own pay rate.
SkimaTalk takes a 20% commission on earnings, which can reduce take-home pay.
Teachers are required to maintain a 4.5 rating, with a low cancellation and no-show rate, or risk losing their profile, which may add pressure to maintain perfect attendance and performance.
