Lessonface Application Process

1.) Submit Your Application:

Share your experience, qualifications, and specialties through the online form.

2.) Profile Approval:

Lessonface reviews your application, often asking for additional information or a demo.

Create a “Student-Ready” Profile:

To get your profile approved on Lessonface, it needs to be "student-ready," meaning it’s polished and appealing to potential students.

What does "student-ready" mean?

Meet the teacher qualifications. Your background should align with Lessonface's standards.

Add 3+ specific details. Include clear examples like universities attended, places taught, performances, or other achievements in your About or Credentials sections.

Write compelling paragraphs. Go beyond listing facts—tell a story about your experience and why students should choose you.

Upload a professional photo. A clear, friendly photo makes your profile inviting.

Write in English. Your profile must be clear and professional.

3.) Start Teaching

Onboarding and Support: Lessonface provides resources to help you start teaching successfully.

Lessonface Reviews

Pros:

  • Lessonface is a registered Public Benefit Company, part of their mission treating teachers equitably. They aim to keep their fees as low as possible so teachers can keep as much of their tuition as possible.

  • Lessonface also ensured payments for lessons, and they enforce cancellation policies for students who cancel last minute, ensuring you get paid.

  • On top of this, teachers also only have to pay a 5% commission rate for bringing their own students.

Cons:

  • Since Lessonface is a platform with many teachers, especially in popular categories like music, standing out and attracting students can take time and effort.

  • While Lessonface promotes its teachers, you may need to actively market yourself, particularly if you're new to the platform or teaching niche subjects.

  • While Lessonface is open globally, its primary audience tends to be English-speaking students, which might limit opportunities for some teachers.

  • Similarly, most of the students are based in North America, so the peak teaching hours may not align with a teacher’s availability.

Lessonface Technical Requirements

Because Lessonface also has real-time music lessons, their technical requirements are little higher than the typical online teaching platform.

  • Required:

    • Internet Speed:

      • At least 1 Mbps upload and download speed (wired is preferred for consistent performance.)

    • Equipment:

      • Reliable computer or table

      • Webcam (built-in or external)

      • Microphone (built-in or external)

  • Optional Tools:

    • Headphones or a headset for better audio quality.

    • External microphone for higher-quality video/audio.

    • Additional camera for multi-cam setups. This is particularly good for music lessons to to show finger placements or instruments clearly.
