GOGOKID
GOGOKID is a new and rapidly growing ESL company funded by Chinese tech giant Bytedance, a massive company worth over $75 billion USD.
After executing substantial advertising campaigns in late 2018 and early 2019, they now have a significant student base and are in need of teachers. They have updated the hiring process as of October 2020 to make it faster and easier to pass.

GOGOKID Requirements
To teach at GOGOKID, you must:
be a native English speaker.
be legally eligible to work in the U.S. or Canada.
have a Bachelor’s degree.
have one year experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, mentoring, coaching etc.)
The Chinese Ministry of Education now requires all online English teachers who teach Chinese students to have a 120-hour TESOL certificate. Get one here.
GOGOKID Minimum Hours
GOGOKID does not require a minimum number of hours from its teachers.
GOGOKID Pay
The base pay ranges from $7 to $10 USD per 25 minute class. This is based on your qualifications and experience. Teachers are able to make up $25 USD/hour with a full credit score.
GOGOKID Credit Score System:
GOGOKID operates on a credit score system. The credit score system is based on:
the amount of 5-star reviews you receive from parents
the amount of classes you teach
The more 5-star reviews you get, and the more classes you teach, the higher your score becomes. In turn, this will increase the pay you receive per class.
They also pay $5 USD for every student that signs up with GOGOKID after taking your trial class.
GOGOKID Peak Teaching Times
Peak hours are:
from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. every day
There are additional peak times on weekends:
10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

New GOGOKID Application Process 2>
The new GOGOKID recruiting Process as of October 2020. There will be no more live interviews and nearly every step has been streamlined.
1. Basic Information - submit your basic information on the GOGOKID teacher portal (click “Apply to GOGOKID” link below)
2. Recorded demo - After submitting your basic information, you will review the materials provided by GOGOKID, and record a short video where you introduce yourself and demonstrate your teaching skills and work environment.
Recorded Demo Instructions
Please note that you should not begin until you click the START button. This button will activate and allow you to click it at the exact start time of your scheduled interview. The system will automatically begin recording as soon as you click this start button.
i.) Please begin by telling a little bit about yourself. They would like to know:
A. Your full name, where are you from, and educational background, including any degrees that you hold;
B. The type of ESL certification that you hold;
C. Your online teaching experience and how long;
D. Your offline teaching experience and how long;
E. Your per class payment expectation (service fee ranges from $7-$10 per class);
F. Any other relevant information that you would like to share
ii) Please teach the demo lesson provided (Two parts: Demo Lesson and Necessary Teaching Skills Presentation)
Teach all the slides provided as though you are teaching to a 5-year - old, beginning level student. The system will automatically continue recording throughout your entire demo lesson.
iii) Once you have finished teaching the demo lesson, you can exit/close out the online classroom. Please do not worry if the system asks you to schedule another interview once you've completed your recorded interview.
iv) GOGOKID office staff will review your recording and will contact you, via email, typically within 3-5 business days with your results. If you have any questions or experience any difficulties with your recorded demo, please email teach@teachers.gogokid.com
Make sure to
prepare multiple props ahead of time
ensure your computer and teaching background is conducive to learning
record only in a controlled environment free from noise and distractions
ensure your audio, video, and internet speed are sufficient
keep your lighting balanced so both you and your teaching background and props can be seen clearly
smile A LOT, and remember you are pretending to teach a young student so be energetic
3. Orientation Quiz - You will be provided with orientation materials to review before completing a short quiz.
4. Submit Paperwork - applicants that successfully complete the previous step are invited to upload their required documents. Document verification may take a few business days. All new teachers are required to have an internationally-recognized ESL certification (TESOL, TEFL or CELTA) which includes an individual certification number.
Get your internationally-recognized, 120-hour certificate, complete with certification number.
5. Sign the Agreement - once documents are verified successful applicants are offered a contract.

Things to consider about GoGoKid:
A good portion of the GoGoKid student base is younger (often only 3 or 4 years old).
Their lessons feature a lot of animated content. Please consider this if you have an older computer, have a slow internet connection, or do not enjoy this type of education.
