Non-Chinese Online ESL Companies Currently Hiring

With the recent news of Chinese government crackdowns on the online English teaching industry, many teachers are feeling scared and uncertain about their future.

While many Chinese companies are still operating as usual, and believe the regulations won’t affect them, we wanted to provide our teachers with a number of non-Chinese options in case they are looking for a back-up plan.

All Right

All Right specializes in teaching English to European students.

  • Applicants need at least a C1 in English plus Russian and/or Polish, Spanish, German, Italian language skills.

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree in education (or related field)  OR a teaching certificate

  • Requires availability to teach for at least 15 hours per week during peak hours.

  • The pay is Up to $15 USD/hour, depending on experience and location

iTutorGroup is an “umbrella company” in it that consists of several different sub-brands. They were one of the first companies in the online ESL industry. Their students have 24/7 access to more than 20,000 tutors in more than 135 countries around the world.

SkimaTalk is a Japanese-based teaching marketplace where teachers create a profile and students can book them through the software. Classes are conducted through Skype video chats. Classes can be conducted any time, 24/7.

Teachers can choose to teach their own material, or use SkimaTalk course content, which includes English Basics, Everyday English, Business English Basics, Business Skills & Knowledge, Writing Test Prep Topics, and Kids Courses. While there are some children students on the platform, most of the learners are adults.
